AC Queen

Cur April would rather chill inside with the cat rather than be in the heat.
Unfortunately some dogs, unlike Honey are not lucky enough to have their own pool. So in the last article I wrote about all the dogs who would be more than happy to take a dip in her pool. But because of the fence keeping out the bad dogs, some dogs are taking matters into their own paws. The question you might be asking is "So what will all those dogs do now?". Well we have one Barkly Times viewer who was able to share with us the story of one determined dog. 11 year-old  cur April was really disappointed after even her puppy dog eyes failed to convince Honey to let her even dip her paws into the pool.
So coming home, April was desperate for new idea. She realized that she had air conditioning. She would rather be a chilly dog in the air conditioning rather than a hot dog outside Honey's yard coming to terms with not being allowed in the pool. Unlike her sister Abitron, April isn't so hot on being outdoors in the summer. She would rather chill inside with the cat. So April decided to just jump on the couch and sleep after being tired. Or so she wants you to think.
A piece of advice is that because April is a big fan of cheese, she might test you if you happen to have cheese nearby. She'll appear to sleep but if you move that cheese is gone. I mean like Lightning McQueen  fast gone. She'll give that kachow smile and go back to sleep.  So either way April is getting what she wants chilling in the AC or trying to sneak some cheese on the side.

Dog Days of Summer

As the hottest days of summer are here, we're not the only ones going to the pool to cool off from the hot sun, especially the Florida sun. Dogs are also diving into the action too. Fortunately not head first into something they might not be sure of.  Here we have Honey, a 7 year-old border collie who just got tired of being in the heat and the fans just couldn't keep up. So her owners got her a nice, cute kiddy ( well not kitty, she would have chased it off) pool from the local Walmart to help her cool down during these hot times of the year.
After filling up the new pool and putting it on the back porch, Honey looked at it with awe and shock. At first, she didn't know what to think of it. In fact she just laid right next to the thing, unsure of what it's purpose it. As far as Honey was concerned,  she thought it was just a giant water bowl on her porch. After a few weeks of this, she finally figured out how to use the pool or in her world, a weird pink thing full of water. And here a generous Barkly Times viewer contributed to our website by submitting this picture of Honey chilling in the pool and she seems like she's really happy to be in the pool. Now all of the neighborhood dogs are jealous and they keep trying to sneak into the pool. I guess that made her cooler. Well don't say that to the cool cats. They will tell you otherwise. Fortunately for Honey, there's a fence around her yard ( Honey sees it as her territory) and in turn, protecting her pool from all the dogs who might be brave enough to try to swim in her pool.
